The British Association for Music Therapy (BAMT) is holding its next conference in Glasgow on 8th - 10th April 2016 and the call for papers is out with the deadline for submissions 21st September: http://www.bamt.org/about-british-association-for-music-therapy/bamt-conference-2016/re-visioning-our-voice-bamt-conference-2016-call-f.html
Here is some information about the conference:
The healthcare landscape in the UK, and beyond, has been in flux for some time. Like many arts-based, health-related professions, it is time for music therapists to reconsider music therapy’s voice, values, currencies, and public profile.
The BAMT Conference 2016 is an invitation to jointly explore how music therapists might re-vision and develop practices; articulate music therapy and professional currencies through research, theory and knowledge exchanges; and engage fully and efficiently with the demands, needs and expectations of service users, commissioners, Integration Joint Boards, Funders, Policy makers, and the health / care professions at large.
The BAMT Conference 2016 is an opportunity to voice ideas, share experiences, and contribute to the
re-visioning of our collective professional voice.
Submissions are now invited from all areas of music therapy practice, theory and research: local, regional, national and international as well as from commissioners, funders, public bodies, and other professionals engaging with music therapy practice.
